Let’s talk about the basics: CBD

CBD, Hemp, Medical Marijuana and all forms of cannabinoid products have all received extensive media coverage over  the last several years. They all come from the same plant, but THC and CBD/hemp are very different categories with regard to final product.

Genus Cannabis of the family cannabaceae is the flowering plant from which we derive CBD & Hemp products. The species Cannabis Sativa is the species from which we derive marijuana.

Two popular compounds that are extracted for therapeutic purposes— cosmetic, edible, or  topical— from the Hemp plant  are CBD extracts and hemp extracts.  Hemp oil is made from extracting the oil from pressed hemp seeds, whereas CBD extracts and oils come from the flowers, leaves and stems of that same hemp plant. The concentration of THC, which is the psychoactive compound found in marijuana, is very low in both CBD and hemp products. Furthermore, in CBD Isolate, THC is absent due to the purification progress. The CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD which, unlike full-spectrum CBD, is uncontaminated by other cannabinoids.

Since THC is absent in CBD Isolate, it will not produce any mind altering effects. It is beneficial to those who all looking for the full-spectrum of benefits of CBD without any exposure to even minimal amounts THC. Using the CBD isolate in medicinal and therapeutic products  makes it safe to reap the benefits of CBD in high concentration and without side-effects.

Hemp, also called Industrial Hemp, is high in anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant compounds. One of my favorite superfoods that I make sure to include in my daily diet is organically sourced  Hemp Hearts. Hemp hearts boast fiber, protein, anti-oxidant, and anti-inflammatory benefits from the CBD, Vitamin E, and omega-3 & omega-6 content, amongst others. They also contain protein and  are  low in carbohydrates!

Speaking of superfoods… CBD can be considered a superfood for our entire being. It is an active ingredient that boasts powerful anti-inflammatory and antibacterial benefits for our system as a whole! So whether we are looking to heal our bodies from the inside out or to soothe our largest organ— the skin— CBD products are a wholesome and healthful solution.

In fact, paper products derived from hemp fibers are also a sustainable alternative to traditional paper and hygiene products.

Cannabis is truly beneficial and versatile.
